This is the third year Ping has set. The first batch completely failed. Last year she hatched the twins, Fred and George. This year her eggs are due to hatch on May 3rd. Today Mr. Blacksnake raided her nest and now she has only 5 eggs left to hatch. If we could figure some way to keep the snakes out she would appreciate it. After the twins hatched last year we were able to put them into a snake proof pen, but it's a little hard to manage after she begins setting.

You have an enjoyable time with your animals/foul/critters. We have a sweet loyal grandpa cat, "Baby", that lives outdoors. We brought him into town with us when we moved and are working at making his latter years very comfortable, as he's served us as a trustworthy mouser for many years.

He is the extent of our critter-dom. No I should say that one of our daughters has a very loud and obnoxious cockatiel, which occasionally I've threatened to allow her to be a meal to "Baby"...but she knows I cannot. :)
